Syahganda Nainggolan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of GREAT Institute, emphasized that the task of the Minister of Finance should not remain in an “ivory tower.” “All media are giving positive comments about the Minister of Finance,” he said, referring to the early public enthusiasm for Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa. He added that Purbaya is a direct student of Nobel Prize-winning economist Paul Romer.

For this reason, he is confident that Indonesia’s industrialization will return to its track. “However, do not just chase numbers. What is more important is how that economic growth is directly felt by the people. That is the need for growth through equity,” Syahganda said in Hotel Bidakara, Jakarta, Thursday, September 11, 2025.

Meanwhile, in his keynote speech, the Minister of Finance expressed optimism that Indonesia’s economy will continue to grow positively, with a target of reaching 8% growth through various fiscal policies, deregulation, and support for strategic sectors. The Minister emphasized that inclusive economic growth must deliver real benefits to society, especially in creating jobs, increasing purchasing power, and strengthening national competitiveness.

Through this forum, it is expected that a common understanding will be built between the government, legislature, academics, and economic actors to strengthen the foundation of sustainable and inclusive growth.
